We are less than 2 weeks out from this VERY special show (Sun. May 19th at Village Pub Long Island) We cannot wait to give it all to Giovanni Silver Fox this night. This show is so important to me for a number of reasons. NOX CULT has reunited to play for all of you one more time. I really hope to see so many of you and when I do I will never forget it.

Brothers and Sisters of the NOX, the CULT has been resurrected! Yes, NOX CULT is back together. One more time. We have been brought back for a benefit show to honor and empower our Cult Member, Friend, Brother and Father, Gio “Silver Fox” as he fights for his health. This is an official announcement about the engagement which will take place on May 19th. The line-up is absolutely incredible. This is our first time performing together in over 3 years and my return to the stage in 2 and a half! This will be a night to remember. Ink the date and get to this. Let’s shake the world. Happy New Year! 2019…holey moley! This is our first episode for the new year. I had the idea to do a bit of a “year in review” type episode for 2018. I wanted to acknowledge the fact that we had now been doing the Podcast for a year and just give a knod to all the great artists I interviewed or covered in some fashion. I figured this would be a great way to tie up one year and start another. I have also been focusing a lot on my SODA’S CRAFTY CHAOS project in which I make candles, light switch covers, prints…etc. I wanted to announce that I have released my first run of enamel pins! I really wanted it to be very special SO…it is an ode, a bit of a tribute, to my favorite band, JELLYFISH. I figured, what better way to start this endeavor than to bring something awesome like this to the still existing Jellyfish community. WE were NOX CULT one more time. We finally had the reunion, but not in traditional form. We talked, we laughed and cleared the air…we confessed and we nearly cried. Once again, in true NOX CULT fashion we present you with this very special episode. This was the best way after all this time for us to really end this wonderful adventure. Dig in!
Once in a while I’ll drop a shameless self promotion post here at MUSIC-SURVIVAL-GUIDE. This, is one of them. I just wanted to announce that my new release, Therapy Sessions:An Experiment In Sound and Word will be released this Friday, October 13th. It is not a traditional “record” by any stretch. It is somewhat stream on consciousness, storytelling, spoken work and a few songs. I’ve been explaining to people that, if an abstract painting had a voice, this might be it. I’m pretty excited about it and sharing it with all of you. It will be available physically only in a limited edition bundle in which the CD version will come with 4 other DIY components. ONLY 20, and the only way you can get it will be with the bundle. Other than that it will be available digitally through all the major sites.

Hey everybody, so here we are again eh? Another year on the horizon and another about to be behind us. Time flies and it’s tricky to keep up. Hard to believe this Blog is just over a year old too. I had a lot of cool content within it’s short life to make it a good source for music above or way below ground. For me it’s a labor of love. It’s also tough to add pieces weekly like I had originally planned, which isn’t a bad thing, it just means I’m busy with other projects and the times that I do post make each installment that much more special. I looked back at some of the stats for this year and honestly can’t believe the amount of attention some of the installments received. So cool to see that, I’ve also gotten some really rad feedback. My intent is to keep it going and to add some more great content. I’m making a list of people I’m going to try to hit up for interviews, finally finish my TOP 100 albums list, review some more shows and just add some general rambling. Keeps my mind sharp! And finally, before I wish all of you a Happy New Year. My band, NOX CULT also had a pretty cool year and we are wrapping it up with the release of our Live EP, “Fucking Live” which just came out on Christmas. Please, if you are interested check us out and the EP. It’s a pretty bad ass recording and just a peek behind our sometimes mysterious curtain.

Hey everybody. I’d like to thank you all again for reading MUSIC-SURVIVAL-GUIDE. It’s been a blast writing this stuff each week. It sounds silly, but prepping only one of these every week and publishing has been a true test. My schedule is crazy and putting the quality I want into each installation weekly can be tough.
So, with that said, scheduling and what not. My new band NOX CULT begins gigging this month so I wanted to make this weeks drop into M-S-G a cheap plug for me and my band! I’m very excited about this venture, once again putting everything I have into another band and making music I believe in that I want to share with the world. Our first cult gathering/show is on 1/25 at Blackthorn51 in Queens, we are sharing the stage with Wednesday 13 and a bunch of really awesome bands. We go on at 5:30pm sharp! It’s gonna be killer.
