New single, “Simulation” out now!

“Simulation” is the anthem of anti-overnight success to a band that has gone viral – the thing most bands strive for these days. The lead singer Pat left his full-time salaried job at Google (the dream job most hope for) in which he got an expensive degree to which he worked, failed, stumbled, fell, but ultimately achieved because of perseverance and the help of mentors guiding through each pitfall. They quit everything from the advice of a record label that has yet to sign them.

Hailing from Corpus Christi, Texas, J-Minu$ is a true hustler in every sense of the word. With an early attachment to music at a young age, J began recording and writing music at the age of 16. J-Minu$ brings a unique sound to the industry with a cinematic approach at contempoary bedroom pop & hyper pop with musical influence from the punk wave of the ’80s along with modern superstars such as Juice World, All American Rejects, Michael Jackson, Post Malone, & Big Sean. Priding himself in his hard work and dedication towards his craft, J has been recording music out of his family’s food truck while juggling a full-time job and various side hustles since 2016. Early in his career J-Minu$ has released over 70 tracks independently with a song going viral to earn him a verification badge on Instagram before completely rebranding himself and starting fresh in 2021. Since hitting the scene with his unique sound J-Minu$ has released two singles that have garnered him attention of blogs such as Buzz Music, Tha Produce Section, Roadie Music. J-Minu$ has managed to build himself an online community with various underground music outlets and streamers supporting his music such as iListenLive & The Creative Hills. J-Minu$ is not anticipated to slow down in 2021 with a project on the way with eOne’s Audio Network (music library) and a debut album release this summer there is much more anticipated from this South Texas artist.

NEW SINGLE “OPTIMISTIC” OUT ON JUNE 9TH: PRE SAVE HERE! https://jm.cubemusic.ca/optimistic

“Optimistic” is the 3rd single from J-Minu$ releasing June 9th anticipated to be followed up with a debut EP releasing later this summer. This track tells a story of the internal struggle J-Minu$ has faced in his music career. Although J has been finding success with his new sound, he uses this song to speak how he’s been feeling stuck in the same spot despite these recent accomplishments. In this song, J delivers a catchy memorable chorus spreading an optimistic approach to his craft to tie together this story of his struggle while bridging together verses that outline the mental and emotional barriers he has been facing. This song speaks to the mental health struggles that musicians face every day while taking an optimistic approach to the mentality and vision they need to keep persevering through these obstacles. J hopes this song speaks to listeners to keep positive throughout their journey; although they may not be seeing changes right away from their successes it is important to keep moving forward and manifesting their goals.

Artist Feature – POEINA

Posted: February 17, 2021 by Soda in Crazy In Love, Poeina, Single

~Love in the time of Quarantine~
New Song “Crazy In Love” by Poeina & Tate Simms
The last year for Artist Poeina has been complicated far more than the world falling apart, yet she still managed to find love during the time of quarantine.  Poeina has been recovering from injuries inflicted by her former music producer who violently attacked her leaving her permanently injured.  After being forced to leave Los Angeles to recuperate in the mountains during covid lockdowns, and against all odds, she found love.  Returning triumphant to the city full of joy sparked an incredible collaboration with guitarist Tate Simms for this newly released hit single “Crazy in Love”.
Tate Simms has played with Grammy Award Winner Christina Aguilera, Latoya Jackson, Joe Cocker, The Supremes’ Mary Wilson and Bobby Brown to name a few.  Tate & Poeina have been taking turns backing each other up on live shows for over three years and have finally begun collaborating on their songwriting as well.  Both artists, desperate to share their love of music, came together for two magical sessions to write and record “Crazy In Love”.

This natural and magnetic collaboration has led to an uplifting, light-hearted fun track about falling in love against all odds.  The homemade indie music video for the track was created in a similar manner.  Joy and freedom of expression were the main objective for these artists who needed to just let loose and have fun with music again.  In the music video you will see Tate Simms & Poeina joy riding in LA along HWY 1, dancing on the beaches and watching seagulls fly.
In a time where artists are forced to reconsider how to pursue their craft without live shows, truly these artists have found the freedom to celebrate life and love in the time of quarantine.  Now streaming on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, & Pandora or check out Youtube for the Official “Crazy In Love” music video.

Meet BLAZAR

Posted: October 7, 2020 by Soda in Blazar, Feature, Indie, New Release, Pop, Single

I’m tellin’ ya, you gotta give it to a patient, consistent and polite artist. Jerad Finck is THAT guy. And, to top it off he’s got some great sounds to go right along with it. Jerad and I have been back and forth for a few months to get him a feature on M-S-G and well, life happens and it’s already October, (BOO!). I am happy to finally give them/him a bump.

Blazar is hot on the heels of brand new single “Precious”. Great timing too, it’s upbeat, fun, danceable. All the things needed to close your eyes for a few moments on such a soulless year. No surprise it’s as good as it is, the work has been put in and quite a team was behind it.

“Precious” was released on September 18 and was produced by BLAZAR & Anthony (Ajax) Resta (Duran Duran, Elton John, Perry Farrell). It was mixed by Mark Needham (The Killers, Imagine Dragons, Shakira, Stevie Nicks) and mastered by Hans Dekline (U2, Lisa Loeb). It was written by BLAZAR, Anthony (Ajax) Resta, Jay Condiotti (Collective Soul, Raven-Symone, Tiffany). So, yea…HOLEY MOLEY.

Want to hear more? Check out the song “Better” which debuted in February before the utter chaos we have all come to know.

As always, I am happy to share and spread music that you may not know. From the underground to the outer space, it’s been featured here at some point. So, give Blazar a chance. Tell your friends and just spread the word. Together we have to keep art alive, especially now.

Isolated Dew cover

“This song was written with the idea of spreading hope during the Covid-19 Crisis! Frankie and I have been talking of doing a song together, and well, the song we originally planned to do together was replaced by this and I’m glad so! I want to say this: These times are tough but turn your mind to music, movies, and calls with loved ones. We will all power through this. I want to thank my parents most of all for putting up with my home recordings. Major thanks to Frankie Siragusa who has made my dream of one day being in a studio happen (I was not in studio during this, files were sent online!! Stay home folks please!!)” – Jebb

Some praise for “Isolated Dew” –

“Jebb’s new song Isolated Dew has the perfect balance of angst, optimism, and emotion. His lyrics and voice have plenty of soul. Exquisitely produced by Frankie Siragusa of The Posies, this track will leave you wanting more from this young talent.”-Scott Brown (Lurch 102.9 the Whale)

“Jebb’s finest song yet, which puts him together with another powerhouse musician that I admire, Frankie Siragusa, is a song which has me grinning from ear to ear every time I listen to it. Never give up on your dreams!”-Tyler Green (Host of Not Another Interview Show/Cohost of Jebb and Green Cast)

“Jebb’s finest work yet.. great writing and recording.. it’s powerful, driving and melodic, and has just the sort of optimism we can all use right now. Two enthusiastic thumbs up!”- Eric Barao (The Cautions/Turbo Charged)

TLQ

Welp, planets…stars…the heaven’s, have all aligned, and 75% of Spilt Milk era Jellyfish have reunited to bring us THE LICKERISH QUARTET! (:holy bananas:) And over the last week or so they have been going hard on getting the word out, and it is a beautiful thing. By the sounds of it Roger, Eric and Tim have A LOT in store for us. And it is great timing as many of us are social distancing and the world is dealing with COVID-19. Music is always medicine.

Anyways, did you hear the first single, “LIGHTHOUSE SPACESHIP”? They have released two videos, one being standard and the other being a new lyric video. Check it out below and prepare to drool over the delicious sounds and production that only was expected.

Canadian band, THE SMILE CASE has sent M-S-G a brand new single to debut from their forthcoming album, Bipolar Bear Wildlife Park on Blacktop Records. A great description straight from the horses mouth is below:

“We are releasing a new album called ‘Bipolar Bear Wildlife Park’ on
March 6th which is more than likely one of the most painful ‘love’ records ever written. The band is an acquired taste and for fans of Elvis
Depressedly, American Pleasure Club & Craig Finn. This song and the new
album is an anxiety fueled rollercoaster that sounds better with a pair of headphones and 5mg of Diazepam.”

So, how could you NOT want to check that out? Be brave, here ya go:

Kicking Sunrise - "Underneath"

Right Coast Music recording artists Kicking Sunrise are scheduled to release a new single this Friday, August 23rd entitled “Underneath” thru multiple streaming and downloadable platforms. And the advance listening I have heard is one of a song catchy and very radio ready.

The band has been together since 2013 and garnered some attention after posting a cover of Justin Timberlake’s song “Suit and Tie” to YouTube. Followed by debut single, “Here’s to the Sunrise” in 2015 which was then picked up for CBS3 Philly as their theme song.

Kicking Sunrise has also shared the stage with such big acts as, O-Town, Aaron Carter, Ryan Cabrera and many more. The band currently has a handful of shows coming up which you can find at their website below along with more information.

KICKING SUNRISE

Thanks to Jessica Andrews at Right Coast Music for reaching out and putting this on my radar. Good luck with the single!

Blindside - Gravedigger

THANK GOD FOR BLINDSIDE. They have returned with new single, “Gravedigger.” Precise and urgent and full of power and soul. Plain and simple.

Almost exactly 8 years ago Blindside left us with their 2011 record, With Shivering Hearts We Wait.  If this new single is a sign of what’s to come, well, it could not come fast enough. Maybe I am biased as I absolutely love this band, but let’s face the facts here. We want to be moved and shaken and feel, it’s long overdue. Where is that passion? It’s right here. For what so many others lack, this quartet from Sweden are desperately trying to pick up the slack for. Blindside is that type of band, continuing to wear their heart(s) on a tattered and dirty sleeve that has survived storm after storm. – The band had done some teasing on social media late June and announced the new single on the 24th. After a brief delay it went live early July accompanied by a lyric video (see below). Waking from their slumber Blindside has let out a scream that must be heard. As perfect and tightly woven as “Gravedigger” is, the rawness that the band possess is still honored, and every shattered piece is spit shined. Have they outdone themselves? Quite possibly, but it is hard to say with just one song. That being said, the band always sounds fresh and well rested on every record and better and better. No need for unnecessary bells and whistles on “Gravedigger”, it stands firmly on it’s own with no disguise. – LISTEN AND TELL YOUR FRIENDS.
